6 April 2018. The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency (HE) George Manneh Weah has touched down at the Kotoka International Airport on Friday 6 April, 2018 for a two day working visit.
He was met on arrival by the Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia with other Ministers of State and the Liberian Community in Ghana at the KIA where he inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Navy.
HE Weah with his delegation would meet with the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces to hold bilateral talks on how to strengthen the already existing relationship between both countries
The two leaders would also discuss issues on promoting peace and security within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Region focusing on Liberia, La Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana.
President Weah would also use his visit to explore avenues for investment intended to enhance trade between both countries.
This is the President’s maiden visit to Ghana after his assumption of office on Monday 22 January 2018 in Monrovia, Liberia. His Excellency George Manneh Weah was a former International football legend who took over from the First Female President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
