The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, has paid a working visit to the Veterans Administration Ghana (VAG) and the Retired Commissioned Officers Association (RCOA) in Accra on Monday 8 December 2025.
The visit was for CDS to acquaint himself with the operational and logistical challenges faced by the two organisations.
The Executive Director of VAG, Brigadier General Seidu Mumuni Adams (Rtd), highlighted the mission of VAG which includes caring for veterans and widows. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to improve medical care and other services for its members. He underscored the significant challenges faced by VAG, and called on the CDS to assist in addressing them.
In his response, Lieutenant General Agyapong thanked the leadership of VAG for its continued support for retired personnel and pledged the commitment of the Ghana Armed Forces to assist the Administration.
The CDS also visited the Retired Commissioned Officers Association (RCOA)and engaged with leadership on matters pertaining to the well-being of retired officers. He presented two air conditioning units to the association.
