UNMISS GHANBATT 12 HOLDS RELIGIOUS PARADE

Major General Aphour urges personnel of UNMISS GH 12 to remain loyal to the Commanding Officer, maintain peaceful co-existence and desist from spreading false information.

A Pre-deployment Training non-denominational Religious Parade has been held for personnel of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) 12 at the Army Peace Operation Training School (APOTS), Bundase on Sunday 26 May 2024.

Delivering the sermon on the theme “Reflecting on the Goodness of God”, the GHANBATT Chaplain Captain Michael Aniagyei stated that the nature of God is to be good to everyone who believes in him. He further entreated troops to be circumspect in making comparisons adding that, they have to acknowledge the goodness of God at all times.

The Guest of Honour, Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations and Training at the General Headquarters, Major General Joseph Aduko Aphour in his remarks eulogised the Chief of the Defence Staff Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong- Peprah for transforming APOTS into a recognised peacekeeping training center.

He urged all ranks of UNMISS GHANBATT 12 to remain professional at all times and be worthy ambassadors of Ghana.

Major General Aphour also advised them to remain loyal to the Commanding Officer, maintain peaceful co-existence among themselves and desist from spreading false information that would create bad image for the GHANBATT.

Also present at the religious parade were the Commander Army Peace Operations Training School, Colonel Clement Kojo Digane, Commanding Officer UNMISS GHANBATT 12, Lieutenant Colonel Godfred Asampong and instructors of APOTS.
