The Young Sailors Academy at the Eastern Naval Command has won the Intellect School Quiz (ISQ) competition held at the Central Cathedral Musama Church in Tema on Wednesday, 3 July 2024.

The Young Sailors emerged winners of the Kindergarten Category of the competition with an impressive score of 90 points after demonstrating exceptional knowledge and skills in the four rounds of questions that tested their ability in identifying sound and sight words, jolly phonics, dictation, and reading.

Prime Academy clinched second position with 85 points, closely followed by Wilmore Christian Academy and Manhean Methodist Basic School with 83 and 80 points respectively.

The Member of Parliament for Tema East, Honourable Isaac Ashai Odamtten made the presentation to the Young Sailors Academy for emerging winners of the competition. They received certificates of participation, trophy, medals, exercise books and products from sponsors for their remarkable achievement.

The Chief Executive Officer, ISQ, Mr Bennett Emman Raymond, highlighted that the competition aimed at motivating pupils from Kindergarten in order to bridge the gap between theory and practice while instilling valuable knowledge in them.

The Coach of the Young Sailors Academy, Madam Bernice Anokye Blantyne, expressed pride in the performance of her pupils and emphasized that the competition fostered deep and specialized understanding of subjects stimulated by learning methods that enhance general knowledge.
