Headquarters Southern Command has held its annual end of year non-denominational thanksgiving religious parade at Kpeshie Ridge, Teshie on Sunday 10 November 2024.

The event, held under the theme “Embracing God’s Divine Purpose in Service,” brought together senior officers, commanding officers of units under the command, soldiers, Defence Civilian Staff, and their families in a united show of gratitude to God for a successful year.

The officiating clergy, Command Chaplain Reverend Lieutenant Colonel Francis Obodai Lokko, and the Imam at Air Force Base Accra, Flight Lieutenant Moucharoudine-Siddique Maiga, in their respective sermons, encouraged all to remain steadfast, uphold righteousness in all aspects of military service, and abide by the tenets of selflessness and dedication essential for spiritual upliftment. They urged attendees to commit the Command and its activities into the hands of the Almighty God and seek His guidance in the years ahead.

The Director General of the Inspector General’s Department at the General Headquarters (DG IGD), Brigadier General Errington Kojo Commey, who served as the guest of honour, encouraged the troops to seek divine guidance, particularly in times of doubt or challenges, as God is faithful and just to hear His children in their time of need. He also urged all personnel to uphold the highest level of professionalism when deployed to support the civil police and other relevant state authorities in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
