The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei, has paid a working visit to the 6 Infantry Battalion on Tuesday 6 August, 2024.

The visit formed part of his maiden operational tour to all units under his command, aimed to gain first-hand information on their operations, challenges, strengths, and weaknesses.

The Commanding Officer of the 6 Infantry Battalion, Lt. Col. Jerry Ankuyi gave a tour of key installations and an operational overview briefing.

The GOC had a durbar with the troops, during the interaction at the durbar, Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei commended the soldiers on their professional conduct in executing assigned tasks despite the vastness of their Area of Responsibility. He reminded the troops to remain extremely vigilant due to the prevailing extremist activities in the Sahel region and the intermittent chieftaincy and ethnic conflicts in the five regions of Northern Ghana.

He further emphasized the mandate of the military in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, underscoring their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the country and remaining neutral before, during, and after the upcoming elections.

The GOC was accompanied by the Command Operations Officer, Colonel Francis Bannerman, and other staff officers of the Headquarters.
