The Ghana Armed Forces Basic Chaplains and Imams Course has ended after two (2) weeks of concentrated training at the Garrison Methodist-Presbyterian Church (GMPC) on Friday 18 August 2023, Burma Camp.The course, which sought to enhance the capabilities of the Chaplains and Imams, was also used to enrich their professionalism in Religious Affairs. The participants of the course were taken through series of areas including professionalism ethics, discipline and military ceremony. They were also engaged by troops on Peace Support Operations to update them on their roles in the mission area.In his speech, the Deputy Chief of Staff (Admin) Air Vice Marshal (AVM) MK Appiah-Agyekum who was the Guest of Honour for the ceremony, congratulated all participants for their involvement and commitment during the course. He urged them to put into practice the knowledge acquired to enhance their professionalism in Religious Affairs as Chaplains and Imams of GAF. On behalf of the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) and Military High Command, AVM Appiah-Agyekum acknowledged the resourced persons from North Dakota led by Colonel (Col) David Johnson and the United States Embassy for their continuous support to GAF over the years. The Director General (DG) Religious Affairs, Commodore (Cdre) Paul Adjei-Djan expressed his profound gratitude to the Guest of Honour for gracing the ceremony. He also commended participants for their professionalism and cooperation in making the course a notable one.
