The Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Major General (Maj Gen) Matthew Essien in keeping to the traditions of the College has visited some former commandants to present Christmas gifts as a gesture of appreciation and goodwill.

The gesture by Maj Gen Essien and the College fraternity reflects their commitment to honouring past Commandants and fostering a sense of belongingness

A team comprising the Commandant, the Assistant Commandant (Senior Division), Chief Coordinator, Director and Deputy Director Corporate Affairs and ADC to the Commandant visited three of the past commandants of the College.

The 3 Former Commandants were Major General Kwesi Yankson (Rtd), Major General Edwin Kwamina Sam (Rtd) and Major General Nii Carl Coleman (Rtd).

Maj Gen Essien in his remarks during the various visits to the Former Commandants emphasised the importance of maintaining strong ties with predecessors and recognizing their contributions to the college’s achievements. The Commandant expressed his appreciation and acknowledged the Generals for their service to the betterment and advancement of the college He also used the opportunity to formally wish them a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year as the festivities approach.

The gift items presented to the former commandants included food stuff, packs of water, drinks, customized plaques and Christmas Cards items. This gesture was well-received by the 3 past commandants as this reinforced the spirit of unity and gratitude during the festive season. The past commandants expressed their heartfelt gratitude upon receiving these Christmas gifts from the Commandant and his team. They described the gesture as a meaningful recognition of their service and contributions, fostering a sense of unity and nostalgia.
