The Headquarters Northern Command has marked the successful completion of the Basic Non-Commissioned Tactical Course (BNTC) on Friday, 8 November 2024.A total of 55 young soldiers from the 6 Infantry Battalion, 10 Mechanised Battalion, 11 Mechanised Battalion, 155 Armour Regiment, and 69 Airborne Force participated in the 16-week course designed to enhance effective command and control. Specific areas covered during the training included disaster management, internal security, counter-insurgency, and counter-terrorism, as well as a two-week orientation at the Jungle Warfare School in Achiase. The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Northern Command, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Frank Nartey Tei, described the course as a vital step in shaping the military skills of young soldiers in line with the Chief of the Army Staff’s vision. He reminded the graduates that their training prepared them not only for warfare but also to uphold the trust placed in them by citizens.Brig Gen Tei emphasised the need for vigilance, steadfastness, and commitment to maintaining peace and stability, particularly in light of the growing terrorist threats along the northern frontiers. He urged the soldiers to use the knowledge and skills acquired to benefit both themselves and the Ghana Armed Forces while continuously striving for personal growth.The Course Commander, Major Steven Ampaateng Adoctar, expressed his gratitude to the GOC for his unwavering support. He congratulated the participants on their successful completion of the course and encouraged them to give their best as they return to their various units.
