Graduation ceremony has been held under the auspices of Air Force Training Command and Air Force Recruit Training School for graduands of Drill and Duties and Basic Military Police Course 1/2024 on Friday, 14 June 2024 at the Air Force Recruit Training School.

Delivering his speech, the Guest of Honour, the Deputy Chief Staff Officer Administration, Air Commodore Frank Kobla Kudoh acknowledged that the graduation ceremony marked a milestone in the annals of the Ghana Air Force and in the lives of the graduands. He highlighted the training bottlenecks previously faced by leadership which had formed the basis for the Ghana Air Force to train personnel for several roles.

Air Commodore Kudoh said Command had followed with keen interest the study progress of the training and was certain the courses had tested the physical prowess, mental acuity and leadership skills of participants.

He, therefore, congratulated them for showing good character and dedication to service. He further urged them to work in unison to achieve the needed synergy in bringing to fruition, the Chief of the Air Staff’s vision.

The Guest of Honour asked the graduands to use the virtues acquired during the training to foster team work, leadership and comradeship at their various units. He commended the course Officers, instructors and all other stakeholders who had made the purpose of the course achievable.

The Drill and Duties Course and the Basic Military Police Course was a 13-week course run for selected Non-Commissioned Officers of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and other participating sister security services in the country. The former was to equip personnel with an up-to-date knowledge in drill while the latter was a foundational training programme designed to prepare individuals for roles within military law enforcement units.

In all, eighty-eight personnel graduated. Out of the number, forty-seven of them participated in Drill and Duties course and the remining forty-one took the Military Police training.

Recognition was given to students who distinguished themselves on the courses. In the Drill and Duties Course, the Master Air Warrant Officer’s Award was awarded to the best in Administration and it went to Sergeant Darko Dwumah Daniel.

Sergeant Dzemfi Freeman won the Forces Sergeant Major Award for being the Best in Drill.  The Base Commander’s award went to Sergeant Dauda Abdul-Karim Moses who was adjudged the third best in order of merit, while Petty Officer Second Class (POII) Opoku Maxwell from the Ghana Navy won the Commander Air Force Training Command award for the second best in order of merit in the Drill and Duties Basic and advance Course. The Chief of the Air Staff award went to Sergeant Tawiah Richmond, the overall best student in Drill and Duties course.

In the Basic Military Police Course, Aircraft Man II (ACII) Rodney Christopher won the Provost Marshal Award as the third best students, ACII Dzimesah Macbeth received the Commander Air Force Training award as the second best and ACII Agyepong Fosuah Francisca won the Chief of the Air Staff award as the Overall Best student.
