The Commanding Officer (CO) of the Armour Training School Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Peter Afreh has handed over the reign of command to Lt Col Lambert Ajebaworoni on Monday 20 January 2025.
During the handover ceremony, the outgoing CO Lt Col Afreh, addressed the gathering after inspecting a special guard of honor.
He underscored the significance of the responsibilities that come with the position of a commanding officer, emphasising that leadership in the military goes beyond authority. He described it as a commitment to service, dedication to duty, and nurturing future leaders. Reflecting on his tenure, he expressed confidence in having upheld the school’s standards and urged his successor to maintain and enhance those benchmarks.


Lt Col Afreh congratulated Lt Col Ajebaworoni on his new appointment, describing it as a testament to his years of dedication and professionalism. He reminded him of the dual nature of the role, which presents both challenges and opportunities and encouraged him to build on the strong foundation established by previous leaders. He further advised him to inspire the soldiers under his command to strive for greater achievements.
