The Ex-Boys Junior Leaders Association of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has launched a book titled Literature on Boys/Junior Leaders Company at Burma Hall, Burma Camp, on Thursday 7 November 2024.
The book serves as a timely and valuable addition to the literature on the Boys/Junior Leaders Company. It captures a comprehensive history of its establishment, recruitment processes, training syllabus, various intakes and notable alumni achievements.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, as the Guest of Honour, Director General of International Peace Support Operations (IPSO), Brigadier General Augustine Asiedu, praised the Ex-Boys for their dedication and positive impact. He encouraged the association to uphold their strong bond and ethics as a group and urged the public to support the book.
The Special Advisor to the President of the Accra Initiative and Chairman for the event, Major General Francis Adu-Amanfoh (Rtd), commended the Boys/Junior Leaders Company for their dedication, courage, and professionalism throughout their service. He described the book as highly informative and well-documented, offering valuable insights on leadership.
The lead author, Ex-Warrant Officer (Ex-WO) Samuel Baafi, shared reflections on his experiences as a soldier and expressed that the desire to honour and preserve the legacy of the Boys/Junior Leaders Company inspired the publication. Ex-WO Baafi encouraged GAF personnel and the public to patronise the book to learn more about the Company’s history and contributions.
