The Ghana Military Academy (GMA) has held an Induction Religious Parade for cadets of Regular Career Course (RCC) 65 and Short Service Commission (SSC) Intake 62 at the Whistler Barracks, Teshie on Sunday, 12 October 2025.

The service, themed “be strong and courageous” provided a solemn occasion for cadets to pledge their loyalty to government, submit to the discipline and orders of the Ghana Armed Forces.

The Guest of Honour, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Michael Akpatsu (Rtd) urged cadets to hold fast to the fundamental tenets of the military training, adding that it was meant to shape character, fortitude and moral resolve.

He also urged cadets to be prepared to sacrifice personal comfort for the safety and the wellbeing of the people they would one day protect and advised cadets to embrace teamwork and be each other’s keeper since that is the strength of every intake.

The Director Religious Affairs of the Ghana Air Force, Colonel Francis Agyeman encouraged cadets to persevere through hardship, obey instructions, train diligently and aspire to leadership, as such would determine career opportunities in the future.

On his part, the Acting Chief Imam of the Ghana Armed Forces, Major Mohammed Alhassan urged the cadets to remain steadfast and not yield to fear. He also called on them to maintain discipline at all times, practice consistently and cultivate patience, resilience and consultation throughout their training.
