The Ghana Navy has emerged victorious in a two-day inaugural Inter-Service Bowls Championship at the Ghana Armed Forces Sports Complex in Burma Camp, Accra from 20 to 21 August 2025.

The event which was aimed at promoting unity, teamwork, and physical well-being, as well as showcasing the skills of personnel in a display of sportsmanship and camaraderie brought together 10 teams drawn from the Army, Navy, and Air Force

The Director Physical Training and Sports, Colonel Richard Akoto is hopeful bowl championship will develop into mainstream sports in Ghana. He indicated that the championship will serve as preparatory grounds for military athletes for regional and international competitions. He acknowledged the collective efforts of all in promoting unity, teamwork, and sports development within the Ghana Armed Forces and beyond.

The President of the Ghana Bowls Federation, Mr Charles Amofah expressed gratitude to Military High Command for introducing bowls sport in the Ghana Armed Forces and emphasised that the goal of the Bowl Federation is to making the sports a household name in the country and provide opportunities for Ghanaians to participate and represent the nation on the international stage.

Leading Seaman Tagoe Nii Teiko Seek Theophilus, Wayoe Gabriel Teye, and Cudjoe Jonathan represented the Devine Focus team of the Ghana Navy. Wayoe Gabriel Teye was awarded the best player, while Genevieve Ntaaga was recognized as the promising player of the competition.
