NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL UNDERGO BASIC MILITARY ORIENTATION TRAINING

The Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) on Thursday 11 December completed the Basic Military Orientation Training for National Service Personnel (NSP) posted to Air Force Base Takoradi.

A total of 47 NSP, comprising 19 men and 28 women, received the training aimed at instilling the qualities of professionalism, discipline, and a sense of purpose expected to bring out the basic military bearing to enable them function effectively at the Air Force Base.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Officer Commanding Personnel Services Squadron (OC PSS), Squadron Leader Francis Azebiah Ekpale, on behalf of the Base Commander, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, congratulated the NSP for completing the orientation. He described the graduation as transition from training to official duties.

He encouraged them to embrace new challenges as they join one of the most critical institutions of the nation for their national service and emphasised the need for discipline, stating that it remains the hallmark of the military.

Squadron Leader Ekpale, further urged them to work with humility, remain eager to learn, absorb expertise and respect the established chain of command.

Mr Benedict Duku Arthur received the Noble Award for emerging as the outstanding trainee.
Present at the ceremony were the OC AFRTS, Wing Commander Newman Suhuba Naab, OC Morale AFB Takoradi, Flight Lieutenant Asiedu-Darkoa, the Training Officer, Pilot Officer Kenneth Tierebuo Sondem, the Training Warrant Officer, WO1 Nartey Steven among others.
