Executives of the Ghana Industrial Trawlers Association (GITA), led by the President, Mr Dominic Asamoah Danquah have paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi on Thursday 6 November 2025.
The visit formed part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the trawler industry and the Ghana Navy.
Mr Danquah emphasised the importance of regular cooperation with the Navy to promote maritime safety, enhance communication, and facilitate intelligence sharing. He also appealed for training opportunities for trawler crew members and requested periodic security onboard trawler vessels.
Commodore Asiedu-Larbi commended GITA for the initiative, describing it as a commendable step toward deepening relations within the maritime sector. He noted that strong partnership and consistent information-sharing were crucial to safeguarding Ghana’s maritime interests.
