GAFHS COMMENCES 2025 ANNUAL GET-TOGETHER AND BAZAAR

The Ghana Armed Forces Health Services (GAFHS), in collaboration with the Support Services Command and Southern Command, has commenced a week-long end-of-year Get-Together and Harmony Hub Bazaar at Nicholson Stadium, Burma Camp on Monday 17 November 2025.
The event, held under the theme "Year of Care and Appreciation, Honouring the Dedication of Nurses, Midwives and the Medical Team," aims to enhance the welfare, unity and morale of personnel through healthcare initiatives, social cohesion and family involvement in a variety of cultural activities and fundraising.
The Guest of Honour, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Support Services Command, Brigadier General Selasi Gagakumah noted that the 2025 Get-Together has been dedicated to recognising the hard work and collective efforts of the medical service workforce. He acknowledged the critical roles hospital staff play in ensuring the success of medical interventions.
He also highlighted the significance of the Bazaar, linking it to the World Health Organization's definition of health as a holistic state of physical, mental and social well-being and added that such gatherings strengthen unity while reinforcing the essential role healthcare professionals play within the military community.
The Nursing Officer in charge of the Medical Centre Pool, Colonel Patience Aku Dzigbordi expressed her admiration for the dedication of the medical team and their initiative in organizing the programme. She explained that the medical pool comprises five medical centres, including Arakan Medical Centre and Maternity, Kpeshie Medical Centre and Maternity and Duala Medical Centre.
