The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has held its annual End-of-Year Religious Parade to express gratitude to God for the year’s successes and protection at Burma Hall on Sunday 14 December 2025.
The thanksgiving service also sought to bolster morale and unity among personnel and to reaffirm core military values.
In his sermon on the theme “Kept by the Power of God,” the Director General of Religious Affairs, Brigadier General Benjamin Godson Kumi-Woode, underscored that faith is rooted in the assurance of God’s unfailing protection over His people.
Drawing attention to significant events during the year, including the helicopter crash and the recruitment stampede, he highlighted the fragility of human systems and the uncertainties of life. He urged personnel to continue trusting in God’s preservation, guidance and support in all lawful and righteous endeavours and to remain steadfast in faith at all times.
The Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, expressed gratitude to God for His guidance and protection throughout the year.
He reflected on GAF’s operational commitments and contributions to national stability and commended the discipline, professionalism and resilience of personnel.
He acknowledged the sacrifices of personnel and highlighted key achievements, including the procurement of equipment, development of tactical drones and efforts to enhance logistics and self-sufficiency to boost the capabilities of GAF.
He also announced the provision of 2,000 housing units for all garrisons and commands across the country, with 700 units in Accra to address housing challenges faced by personnel.
He thanked personnel for their support, encouraged renewed dedication to service and continued reliance on God’s sustaining grace and wished all and sundry a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
