A Mission Accomplishment Religious Parade has been held for troops of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon Ghana Battalion 90 (UNIFIL GHANBATT 90) at the Arakan Methodist-Presbyterian Church, Burma Camp, on Sunday 29 September 2024.

The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, who was the Guest of Honour, congratulated the troops on a successful mission, despite the challenges faced during their tour of duty. He commended them for maintaining peace and stability in a hostile environment.

In his sermon, the Acting Director General of Religious Affairs, Colonel Benjamin Kumi-Woode, highlighted the importance of honouring the Lord through fostering good relationships with families and those around them. He also urged the troops to remain loyal to the constitution and the Military High Command as Ghana approaches its upcoming general elections.

The Commanding Officer of GHANBATT, Lieutenant Colonel Frank Kwesi Agyeman, expressed gratitude to God for the safety of the troops and thanked the CDS for his consistent communication during their mission. He quoted Isaiah 46:4, affirming God's promise to be with them throughout their lives, even as they grow older.

The ceremony was attended by Ghana's Honorary Consul to Lebanon, Mr. Ali Jaafar, the Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters, Major General Joseph Prince Osei-Owusu, service chiefs, and senior officers.
