A 6-member delegation led by the President of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfour on Friday, 15 September 2023 paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama at his office at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp.

The CDS welcomed and thanked the delegation for choosing GAF as their place of visit. In his remarks he stated that the leadership of GJA should help in promoting the need to build a media relationship with the GAF and seek advice in publishing their stories on matters concerning Security.

The CDS extended his recommendation to the contribution of GJA in nation building and said the GAF is always ready to work together with the media as a team in protecting the territorial integrity of the Country.

Vice Admiral Amoama commended the delegation from GJA to deepen the existing relationship between GAF and the media.

Mr Dwumfour thanked the Military High Command for the existing cordial civilian Military relationship that has helped both institutions to grow. He added that this has helped to stimulate “See Something Say Something” to get vital information to the Security Agencies to help protect citizens and promote peace and stability in the Country.

He emphasised on the need to work with the GAF on press engagements where the media can interact perfectly with the Military to help in nation building and to also promote a good reportage about the GAF.

He further continued that the GJA has over the years build a mutual relationship with the GAF and looking forward to still work together and interact over issues with the Military High Command and support with any information when the need arises.
