CDS MAKES HISTORIC VISIT TO GIS AND GNFS

The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah made a historic visit to the Headquarters of the Ghana Immigration Services (GIS) and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in Accra on Wednesday 17 April, 2024.

He first visited the GNFS headquarters where the Chief Fire Officer, Mr Julius Kunnor introduced members of the GNFS management and briefed the CDS on the operations of the Service.

Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah later called on the Comptroller General of the GIS, Lawyer Kwame Assuah Takyi, where they emphasized the importance of cooperation among security services.

The CDS stated that his visit to the two services was to further deepen their cooperation to ensure the stability of Ghana. He also emphasized, their collaboration was imperative to help compensate for the manpower requirements, improve interoperability as well as share resources for effective and efficient mission accomplishment.

On his part, the Comptroller General of GIS stated the visit of the CDS signified the strong partnership between the GAF and the security services in safeguarding the national borders.
