South Korean Coast Guard Delegation Calls on CNS

A delegation from the South Korean Coast Guard led by the Director General Kang Seonggi, paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Rear Admiral Issah Yakubu, on Wednesday 24 November 2021 at his office at the Naval Headquarters.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss issues of mutual interest and find solution to challenges confronted by both the Korean Coast Guard and the Ghana Navy.

Rear Admiral Yakubu in his welcome remark commended the Korean Coast Guard and Navy for their strong bilateral connection with the Ghana Navy and expressed appreciation for the enormous support offered by the Korean Navy over the years.

Director General Kang Seonggi, on his part stated that the Korean Coast Guard was committed and willing to render assistance to the Ghana Navy in capacity building through courses, personnel training and exchange programmes. He was optimistic that the support would help improve the knowledge and skills of the Ghana Navy personnel and further enhance the collaboration among the two Services. He expressed his appreciation to the Ghana Navy for protecting Korean fishing vessels against piracy and other sea related crimes along the Gulf of Guinea.
