A three-day inter-company fun games dubbed Akwaaba Fun Games has been organized for personnel of UNMISS GHANBATT 9 from Thursday, 4 to Saturday 6 November 2021 at the Battalion Headquarters in Bentiu.

The games formed part of activities to officially welcome troops to the Operational Area. The curtain raiser for the fun games was a football match between females of the Headquarters Company and selected players from Alpha, Bravo and Charlie Companies. The ladies of the various companies also treated spectators to an interesting volleyball match and apple eating competition. Other events were tug-of-war, inter-company soccer, volleyball and table tennis matches.

In a short remarks, the Commanding Officer, Lt Col Michael Mfum commended troops for a healthy competition void of casualties. He added that, such competitions promote espirit-de-corps among troops and commended the organisers of the fun games for a good job done and participants for their cooperation.

At the end of the games, Headquarters Company emerged winners with 29 points while Charlie Company came second with 28 points. Alpha and Bravo Companies took the third and fourth positions with 9 and 8 points respectively. Trophies and other interesting prizes were presented to deserving companies.
