AFRTS Holds Novices Boxing Competition for BITC 2-21

 Basic Infantry Training Course (BITC) 2-21, as part of its training programme for Recruits, has held an inter-company novices boxing competition at the forecourt of the Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) Auditorium from Monday 15 to Thursday 18 November, 2021.

The objective of the Basic Military Training is to turn out well trained highly motivated, physically and mentally tough soldiers capable of undertaking any task when called upon by Command, whiles the novices boxing aspect of the training was to measure the progress the recruits had made both physically and mentally since they began their training.

Speaking at the final day of the competition, the Guest of Honour, Director of Army Training at the Army Headquarters, Colonel Bernard Baba Pantoah expressed his satisfaction with the standard of physical fitness, bravery, combativeness, determination and endurance exhibited by the Recruits.  

He thanked the Commanding Officer of  2nd Infantry of Battalion, Lt Col Abass Atuluk and his entire staff as well as the sponsors of the event for making the programme an entertaining one one.

The event which was sponsored by the Service Integrity Savings and Loans (SIS&L) and MOBI Crane Ltd was won by Alpha Company with 56 points, followed by Charlie Company with 47 points and Bravo Company with 37 points.   The Best female boxer went to Recruit Gbatey Asana and the Best male boxer was awarded to Recruit Anisi Fred Kofi. The Gallant losers for both the male and female categories went to Recruit Asamoah Prince and Recruit Ashinyo Cecilia.
