The Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon Kofi Amankwa-Manu paid a working visit to the Military Academy and Training Schools on Tuesday 16 November 2021 at Whistler Barracks Teshie.
According to the Hon Amankwa-Manu the aim of his visit was to acquaint himself with the activities of MATS and to also have a first-hand understanding of the progress of work on the ongoing Military Housing Project. The Deputy Director at the Directorate of Engineering Services, Lt Col Tekyi Abraham also gave a detailed update on progress of work.
When completed, the project will boast of 176 two-bedroom flats, 160 two-bedroom half compound houses; 1 military hostel with 240 self-contained rooms and 1 platoon commanders’ block containing four two-bedroom flats. Additionally, the project will include the construction of an auditorium with 640 seating capacity; one-story classroom block for GMA. It will also have an administration office block with 48 offices and a conference room for the Academy.
