A Mission Accomplished Parade has been held at the 5 Infantry Battalion Square on Monday 20 September 2021 to welcome and address troops of UNIFIL Ghanbatt 87 for completing their 12 months mission of UN Peacekeeping operations in southern Lebanon.

In his address, the Reviewing Officer, Director General Logistics, Brig Gen JP Osei-Owusu on behalf of the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) of the Ghana Armed Forces, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, and the Military High Command stated that, Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) over the years had calved an image of friendly, fair and firm professionalism through their participation in missions. He was grateful to the troops for keeping their credibility in performing their assigned tasks amid the diverse challenges they encountered.

He also applauded them for their immense effort to reduce tension along the Israel and Lebanon borders, and hoped the experience had given them a deeper understanding of war and its destruction. This he believed will make them cherish and protect the peace of Ghana against any aggressor.

He further briefed them on some restructuring and expansions that had gone on within GAF while they were away. These included; the establishments of the Army Peace Operation School, operation Halt II, among others.

He advised them to avoid frivolous spending, beware of ponzi scheme companies, and entreated them to plan and invest their income wisely. He wished them a loving and happy reunion with their families.
