Turkish Ambassador to Ghana Calls on CDS

The Turkish Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency (HE) Mrs Ozlem Ergun Ulueren has paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama at Burma Camp on Friday, 9 July 2021.

The purpose of the visit was to congratulate the CDS on his appointment, wish him well in all his endeavours as the CDS and deepen the bilateral relations between both countries.

As part of the visit, HE Ulueren introduced a four-member delegation from the Havelsan Company. Havelson participated in the just ended 2nd edition of the International Maritime Defence Exhibition Conference (IMDEC) which took place from Tuesday, 6 to Thursday, 8 July 2021.

She further invited the Military High Command to the 15th edition of International Defence Industry Fairs (IDEF) which is scheduled for 18 to 20 August 2021 at Istanbul in Turkey. 

IDEF, one of the four largest defence industry fairs in the world, was initially used to introduce the defence of Turkey to the world.  However, the platform is now used as an avenue to internationally promote market and cooperate with other countries in the fields of defence, security, maritime, aviation and space industry.

HE Ulueren urged the CDS to facilitate the signing of the necessary memorandum of understandings between both Armed Forces to augment the existing bilateral relations.

On his part, the CDS graciously accepted the good will message from HE Ulueren and confirmed that Ghana and Turkey are strategic partners. He assured HE Ulueren that the Ghana Armed Forces will take of the bilateral relations between both countries and Armed Forces.
