The Deputy Minister for Defence for Industrial Cooperation of the Czech Republic, Honourable Dr Tomas Kopecny and a team of industry experts paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama at Burma Camp on Friday, 9 July 2021.
The purpose of the visit was to wish the CDS well in his appointment and promotion to the high rank of Vice Admiral. It was also to explore new bilateral relations and deepen the already existing mutual relation between the two Armed Forces.
The Minister was accompanied by the Chez Republic’s Ambassador to Ghana, HE Jan Fury and Ghana’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, HE James Nyasembi.

The CDS and the Deputy Minister for Defence for Industrial Cooperation of the Czech Republic further met the team of industrial experts at the Command Mess’ Conference Hall where various industry representatives made presentations on their products to the decision-makers of GAF.
Vice President of Aero Vodochody, Jakub Hoda, presented on the L-39 Albatros Aircraft, a high-performance jet trainer and the L-39NG turbofan-powered military jet trainer. A presentation was also made on CZP range of assault rifles and tactical gears made by Ceska Zbrojovka in the Czech Republic while the CEO of Bowenite, Major General (Rtd) Milan Kovanda presented on technologies, materials and services for Defence and security purposes. A representative from European Air Services also delivered on airports and heliports.
The CDS stated that, the various presentations have enlightened the Military High Command regarding procurement decisions in the future for combat and training purposes.
