The Head of Regional Cooperation for the Directorate for Security Policy at the Austrian Ministry of Defence, Counselor Guenther Barnet has called on the Chief of the Defence (CDS) Vice Admiral Seth Amoama on Monday, 14 June 2021 at his office in Burma camp.
The purpose of the call was to deepen the existing bilateral military relations between the countries pertaining to the National Dog Academy, Engineer Training Programme, the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) partnership among others and also to wish Vice Admiral Seth Amoama on his appointment as the CDS and subsequent promotion to the high rank of Vice Admiral
Counselor Barnet who was also in the country for the occasion of the Political and Master Course, currently on going at KAIPTC, said the Austrian government had always pledged its continuous support to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), and was also ready to support flagship programmes such as Peace Building, Counter Terrorism and Border Control at KAIPTC.
Vice Admiral Amoama on his part expressed his gratitude to the counselor for his visit. Saying GAF had always appreciated the immense support of the Austrian government, especially the National Dog Academy Training School, KAIPTC Humanitarian and Political courses.
He said he was looking forward for exchange programmes with the Austrian Armed Forces in areas such as cyber security, terrorism and information sharing.
Counselor Barnet was accompanied by the Austrian Defence Attaché to Ghana and Nigeria, Lt Col Gammah.
