The Commander Army Training Command (CATRAC), Brigadier General Winfred Dzandu-Hedidor, has encouraged female Army Officers to have a renewed sense of purpose and confidence as they prepare for this year’s Officers Promotional Examination (PROMEX).

He also emphasized that, female Officers should endeavour to move along with the global drive for excellence among women, because female officers in various Armed Forces all over the world were competing with their male counterparts and excelling.

Brig Gen Dzandu-Hedidor made these assertions on Thursday, 18 March 2021 when he delivered a speech at the Buchanan Hall, ATRAC, to close a three-week Practical Promotion Examination (PROMEX) Cadre organised for Female Army Officers selected from various Units and Commands of the Army.

The CATRAC disclosed that, the cadre was envisioned by the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah and hosted by the Command, therefore, the successful conduct of the cadre and the participation of female Army Officers was not only novel, but of great importance to the Army High Command.

He further gave the assurance that, their participation in the PROMEX would enhance their career progression to the same level with their male counterparts in their Units and Corps. He admonished the participants to take advantage of other PROMEX cadres, Unit training and group discussions to enhance their knowledge and delivery skills. He also charged them to remain focus and avoid last minutes preparation, while encouraging them to eschew cheating which could lead to their dismissal from the Service.

The CATRAC expressed appreciation to the Commander, Army Combat Training School (ACTS), the Deputy Commander ATRAC, and Directing Staffs who contributed to the successful conduct of the Cadre.
