The Jungle Warfare School (JWS) has held an induction church parade for 210 Recruits of the Basic Infantry Training Course (BITC) 3-20, currently undergoing their basic training at the Jungle Warfare School (JWS) in Akyem-Achiase on Sunday, 7 February 2021.
Speaking on the theme; “With God all things are possible”, the Chaplain, Lt BO Acheampong admonished the recruits to take the course in earnest and strive to achieve the military disciplines the Ghana Armed Forces has been noted for.
The Imam, Lt Y Mohammed in his homily urged the recruits to count themselves privileged to be selected for the training.
The Guest of Honour for the occasion who doubles as the Deputy Commander Army Training Command, Col A Asiedu in his speech emphasized the need to show commitment to the training and counseled the recruits to always be disciplined, highly motivated, dedicated, selfless, courageous, physically fit and patriotic at all times. He advised the recruits not to rest on their oars since the basic training was designed to mold them into soldiers of the required standard for GAF.
Col Asiedu further added that the recruits would undergo a carefully designed training program made up of activities including, Weapon training, Novice boxing, Map reading, Field Craft, Tactics, Drills, Physical Training, First Aid among others.
