GMPC Men’s Fellowship Donates to Special Block of Nsawam Prisons

The Men’s Fellowship of Garrison Methodist Presbyterian Church (GMPC), Burma Camp has donated toiletries and food items worth Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh?10000) to the Special Block of Nsawam Prisons.

The donation which was done on Wednesday 19 June 2019 formed part of the church’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of visiting the Special Block bi-annually to support and socialize with the inmates.

The Chairman of the Men’s Fellowship of GMPC, Captain Joel Kwami Sowu (Rtd), said that the washrooms for the Special Block were inadequate and in bad condition hence the decision to refurbish the existing ones as a group.    

Receiving the items, the Assistant Director of Prisons (ADP), Mr Edmond Boye Odonkor who doubles as the Second in Command (2IC) of the Nsawam Prisons, expressed his profound gratitude to the Chairman and the entire members of GMPC for their continuous support towards the Special Block and promised to make good use of the items.

Rev Daniel Laye from the GMPC urged the inmates to read the Bible always and pray at all times.
The Vice Chairman of GMPC, Ransford Oboh, a Member of the Armed Forces Council (AFC), Col Comfort Ankomah-Danso (Rtd), Maj Eric Osei (Rtd) and other church members were present at the facility.
