Ghana Army takes over Guard Duties at Jubilee House

The second quarter ceremonial guard changing between the Ghana Air Force and the Ghana Army at the Jubilee House has been held on Monday 17 June 2019.

The quarterly ceremonial parade, a colonial legacy inherited from the British is similar to that of Buckingham palace, which ensures maximum security, continuous protection, alertness and readiness of military guards at their posts.  

The Reviewing Officer, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Dr Mahamadu Bawumia witnessed the 31st ceremonial parade at the Jubilee House which saw the Ghana Army taking over from the Ghana Air Force Contingent who would continuously guard the Presidency for the next three months.

The guard changing ceremony is opened to school children which affords them the opportunity to ask questions on military­­- related activities.

 The Defence Minister, Hon Dominic Nitiwul, Chief of Staff at the Presidency (COS), Hon Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the Interior Minister, Hon Ambrose Dery, and other Service Chiefs were present at the occasion.
