A three week Peace Operations Course and Combined Joint African Exercise, (C-JAX), has ended on 7 June, 2019 at the Kofi Annan International Training Center (KAIPTC).
The exercise brought together participants from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), KAIPTC and other countries, to train on peace operations and it intricacies.
Participants were taken through the concept of peace keeping planning, coordination and deployment with a practical session enacted by the United Nations (UN) Security Council representatives to deliberate on crisis in a fictional war country named Carana.
Delivering a speech at the closing ceremony, the German Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency (H.E) Christoph Ritzlaff who was the Guest of Honour pledged his continuous support to KAIPTC with more of such courses to support the security sector.
He commended the participants for their dedication, and urged them to be actors and builders of peace which served as a major key to ensure peace and stability in Africa.
The course saw a total number of 130 participants from GAFCSC, Nigeria, Zambia, and Mali amongst other African countries and Defence organizations.
