Nana Addo Meets ECOWAS Heads of States

The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has held a consultative meeting with ECOWAS Heads of States at the Peduasi Lodge on Tuesday, 15 September 2020.

This follows his determination as the newly appointed ECOWAS Chairman to ensure that the socio-political turmoil currently in Mali, which has brought a military junta, comes to an end with a smooth transfer of power to civil authority in order not to further deepen the woes of the Malians.

Presidents Faure Gnassingbe of Togo, Macky Sall of Senegal, Alassane Outtara of Cote d'Ivoire, Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger, Roch Marc Christian of Burkina Faso and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo of Nigeria attended the crucial meeting.

They were spectacularly welcomed into the country by the Ghana Navy with a smartly turned out guard of honour and band as a corrective mark of respect and security during and after the meeting.
