The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Moses Mohammed Aryee has on Wednesday 9 September 2020, commissioned a refurbished 6 Medical Reception Station OPD block and a Dispensary Centre at the Kamina Barracks in Tamale to support healthcare delivery for the people of 6bn and its surrounding communities.

The refurbishment was sponsored by Bank of Ghana, Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) and Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEBCo).

The GOC congratulated the various institutions for their thoughtful generosity in helping to refurbish the block.

He bemoaned the spate of Infrastructure deficit in the barracks, especially in the sectors of health and education which he said the Military High Command alone could not undertake. He, therefore, urged other stakeholders to come on board to render support to the Garrison.

Brig Gen Aryee said the priority of the Command was to ensure various units within the command had access to basic social amenities, especially in the area of healthcare delivery.

He acknowledged the tireless efforts by the Military High Command to increase healthcare infrastructure as well as completing major projects in the Garrison to improve on the quality of service.

Thee Senior Medical Officer (SMO) of 6MRS, Major Abdul-Latif Alhassan said the edifice would be handled with care and also go a long way to improve upon the healthcare delivery for personnel and families in 6Bn and other communities in the Tamale metropolis.

The ceremony was also attended by the Command Logistics Officer, Colonel Michael Adzo, Commanding Officer 6Bn Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Boamah, Second in Command 6bn Major Jacob Cudjoe, Garrison Imam Yunus Abdallah, Pentecost Chaplain Rev Isaac Deku, Representatives from Bank of Ghana, Ghana Commercial Bank, SSNIT, and NEBCo.
