The Commanding Officer (CO) of the United Nations Mission In South Sudan (UNMISS) Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) 7, Lt Col Antwi Awuah Darkwa on behalf of the GHANBATT has donated ICT equipment to the Bentiu Youth Training Centre in Bentiu, Unity State, South Sudan on Wednesday 22 July, 2020.

The equipment were 2 HP desktop computers and a Laser Jet pro printer. The donation came after GHANBATT 7 had organized intensive 6 months ICT training for the youth in Bentiu.

Presenting the equipment, Lt Col Darkwa said the donation was in fulfillment of a promise made earlier by the GHANBATT. He reiterated that, GHANBATT 7 was committed to the development of the youth in Bentiu and promised that the initiative would not be a nine day wonder as successive battalions will continue with it.

The Secretary General of the Bentiu Youth Union, Mr Riek Yuanis who received the items, thanked GHANBATT 7 for their kind gesture. He noted that, owing to the training organized by the GHANBATT, several of the beneficiaries had gained meaningful employment. He added that they still needed support from the GHANBATT to train more youth.
