Special Lady Awareness (SLA), a Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) in collaboration with 3FM, a subsidiary of TV3 presented assorted medical items and toiletries to the 37 Military Hospital on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the fore court of the hospital’s Headquarters in Accra.
The items included examination gloves, catheters, surgical gloves, diapers, bottled water, soft drinks, tissue papers, liquid soap, bags of rice and a cake for children on admission at the Nkrumah ward.
Presenting the items to the hospital, a representative and host of 3Fm morning show, Mr Alfred Ocansey said the items were to support the facility in the fight against the COVID-19 and to appreciate the efforts of health workers since the outbreak of the virus in the country.
Mr Ocansey said 3FM together with Special Lady Awareness started a campaign some few years ago to support health workers in addressing the systematic problems they encountered in the discharge of their duties as well as the general problems facing the hospital as a whole.
A representative of SLA, Maame Ajoa Cann who spoke on behalf of the President and founder of the NGO Madam Elizabeth Amoah hinted that the presentation was also made to support women during child birth and children who are in need of health assistance.
The Commanding Officer of the hospital, Col Azumah Bugri received the items on behalf of Military High Command, Commander of the hospital, Brig Gen Nii Adjah Obodai , staff of the facility and thanked them for the kind gesture.
Col Bugri assured that the items would be put to good use and encouraged individuals and corporate bodies to emulate the kind gesture of SLA and 3FM.
Present at the presentation were the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Kumasi Military Hospital, Col Juliana Gyasi-Necku , CNO Admin Col Rex Adzagba, Administrative Officer Medical Lt Col Richard Mintah and some Senior Officers.
