DI Service Centre Commissioned

The Defence Intelligence (DI) Department has commissioned a new Ultra-Modern DI Service Centre which has a Unisex Salon and two modified eatery rooms for personnel on Wednesday 15 July, 2020 at the forecourt of the department.

According to the Deputy Director, Counter-Intelligence, Lieutenant Colonel Frank Gyebi-Abrokwah, the purpose of the Ultra-Modern Unisex Salon and the two modified eatery rooms was to create a more comfortable environment for eating and personal grooming. This, he said indicates that the DI had the welfare of its personnel at heart.

In a related development the department also held a brief sendoff ceremony for some of its indefatigable Officers who have contributed immensely to the uplifting of the department. They involved three Officers and one Civilian Employee who was a warden.  They were presented with citations and an undisclosed amount of money as an appreciation for meritoriously distinguishing themselves to the department and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) as a whole.

The Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Major General Nicholas Peter Andoh in his remarks said, it was gratifying to note that when people work together as a team they achieve greatness, adding that silence, stealth, discipline and confidence was their hallmark. The CDI indicated that their personnel were specially selected, well trained, focused and poised for action. He further stated they were the eye and ears of GAF.

Acting Deputy Chief Defence Intelligence, Colonel DD Gbedawo said the department had seen a tremendous change and this was as a result of the massive contribution by personals. He urged personnel to see their appointment as a calling and learn how to impact positively.

Present at the ceremony was the Director of Civilian Establishment, Naval Captain Faustina Anokye and some Senior Officers.
