Military High Command Visits PROMEX Candidates

The Military High Command has expressed profound confidence and satisfaction in the capabilities of Army officer candidates of the 2020 Promotion Examinations for their appreciation of military knowledge and professionalism.

The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air  Vice Marshal Frank Hansen made this assertion when he led a high powered delegation including the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah to visit and observe the candidates for the 2020 Army Practical Promotion Exams (PROMEX) in the Volta region on Thursday 9 July 2020.

Air Vice Marshal Hansen who doubled as the Chairman for the 2020 Army Practical Promotion Examinations Board stated that their aim for observing the PROMEX was to ascertain the progress of work and the professional abilities of the candidates.

He further commended the candidates for their painstaking effort to learn about the military and their brilliance on the field. The CAS also expressed great satisfaction with the standards and efforts put in place by both candidates and Directing Staffs to make the exams successful, adding that, through these exams the Army is able to produce quality Officers in field operations to lead this noble institution.

The Chairman assured the candidates and their Directing Staffs that he would convey his observation to his superiors and relay his optimism that they would be leaving the military in the hands of capable and professional crop of fine and intelligent officers.

The Officers Promotional Examination is a standard written and field test for officers of the Ghana Armed Forces. These test, among other things, form part of the requirements for their promotion to the next higher rank.
