Ghana Catholic Bishops Call on CDS

A delegation of eminent personalities of the Ghana Bishop's Conference led by the President, Most Rev Philip Naameh, Archbishop of Tamale Diocese has paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen Obed Boamah Akwa on Thursday, 9 July 2020 in Burma Camp.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss issues relating to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and the Catholic Church as well as deliberate on the career progression of Catholic Priests serving as Chaplains in GAF.

Most Rev Philip Naameh revealed the Catholic Church's willingness to provide a priest to the GAF in the newly created regions, should there be a need for their services.

The CDS acknowledged the dedication of Catholic Priest serving with GAF over the years. He added that there was the need for a continuous good working relationship in the years to come.
