Anona Royal Family Donates to AFB - Takoradi

The Anona Royal Family of Apremdo has donated sanitary items to the Air Force Base Takoradi (AFB TAK) on Wednesday 20 May 2020.
The gesture was meant to help troops and civilian employees of the Base to fight the corona virus disease (COVID-19). Items donated comprised Veronica buckets, hand sanitizers, hand towels, gallons of liquid soap, among others.  

The Base Commander, Air Commodore Eric Agyen Frempong who received the donation on behalf of the Base expressed his appreciation to the Anona Royal family for the gesture. He assured them the items would go a long way to enhance measures put in place to fight COVID-19. He added that the items would enable troops and civilian employees practice the preventive protocols in order to stay safe and protected.

A representative of the Anona Royal Family of Apremdo, on whose stool land the AFB TAK is situated, Nana Gyan Kofi IV (Nifahene of Apremdo) said that as Landlords of the area, they believe is part of their responsibility to support government institutions fight the pandemic by donating sanitary items to many institutions as possible.

Nana Kofi Ampofo, Administrator of Anona Family Lands indicated that personnel of the Armed Forces were always at the frontline in the fight against the virus, making them susceptible. He said that the Royal Family was mindful of the important role played by the Armed Forces in their jurisdiction hence the gesture.
