The Founder of the New Africa Foundation (Freedom Movement), Nana Kwame Bediako has donated a solar powered hand washing machine to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on Friday 26 June, 2020 at the forecourt of the Directorate of Public Relations, Burma Camp.
The donation was to support the efforts of GAF in the fight against COVID -19 through effective hand washing.
Nana Kwame Bedaiko, a philanthropist said his organisation was set up 8 years ago as a new revolution to help the youth in Africa towards attaining not only financial freedom but also mental and spiritual liberation. The foundation has been involved in the donation of relief items to the needy in 8 African countries. The recent donation was to support the needy ahead of the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020. It also has plans to support Veterans in Anglophone African countries.
The machine that was built locally by Mr Richard Kwarteng, a young entrepreneur has most of its parts made in Ghana. The machine that is automated is made up of a barrel to contain water, a compartment for soap as well as a hand drier. It has a capacity of 280 hand washes.
The Director General Personnel Administration, Air Commodore Michael Agyekum-Agyeman, receiving the machine on behalf of the GAF expressed his appreciation to the founder of the New Africa Foundation for the gesture. He assured him that the machine would be put to good use in order to protect personnel and guest of the GAF against COVID-19.
