GOC N/COMD Donates to Muslims in 6 Garrison

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Moses Mohammed Aryee, has congratulated Muslims in the Garrison for a peaceful and successful month of fasting and prayers in the holy month of Ramadan.

The GOC who is also the Garrison Commander urged the Muslim brethren to be discipline and loyal to the Ghana Armed Forces and the country as a whole. He donated to the 6 Garrison Muslim community assorted food stuffs comprising 9 bags of rice, 6 boxes of cooking Oil, 6 boxes of tin tomatoes and a sum of GHC 1000 on behalf of the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lt Gen Obed Boamah Akwa, at a short ceremony held at the Headquarters, Northern Command, Nyohini Camp, Tamale, on Friday 22 May 2020.

While commending troops for their steadfastness and commitment to the Garrison and the Northern regions as a whole, Brigadier General Aryee entreated Muslims in the garrison to eschew acts of indiscipline by continuing to exhibit professionalism in the discharge of their duties. He prayed that the blessings from the holy fast would help maintain the peace and unity in the northern regions.

Receiving the items on behalf of all Muslim troops of 6 Garrison, the Acting Garrison Imam Yunus Ac, thanked the GOC for the donation and prayed Allah to continue to bless the good works of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Also present at the event was the Commander Rear Airborne Force, Lt Col KA Adum-Atta, Sqn Ldr Ibrahim Iliasu of Air Force Base Tamale and a cross section of Muslims drawn from the three units of 6 Garrison namely Air Force Base Tamale, 6th Infantry Battalion and the 69 Airborne Force.
