The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen Obed Akwa has donated some food items to the Muslim communities in the various Garrisons of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on Wednesday 2020 at Burma Camp towards the upcoming celebration of the Eid Ul-fitr.
Presenting the items on behalf of the CDS, the Chief of Staff (COS), Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu congratulated the Muslim community for successfully completing the Ramadan amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and also adhering to the President’s directives to stay home during their 40 days of fasting and prayers. He added that, the donations were part of the CDS’ contribution towards the celebration of the Eid al-fitr.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim communities, the Provost Marshal (PM), Col BZ Ayorrogo thanked the CDS and the Military High Command for their generosity and wished them Allah’s blessings and protection.
The distribution of the food items were as follow; 5 bags of rice and 2 boxes of oil was given to the 37 mosque, 10 bags of rice and 4 boxes of oil was also given to the Burma Camp mosque and 5 bags of rice with 2 boxes of oil was presented to the Teshie mosque respectively. The rest of the Garrisons accordingly received their donations through their Commanders.
