The ECOWAS Mission in the Gambia (ECOMIG), Ghana Company 3 (GHANCOY 3) has donated medical supplies valued at Two Thousand USD ($2,000) to the Arakan Medical Reception Station (MRS) in Burma Camp on Tuesday 5 May 2020.

The items comprised three staff lockers, eight gallons of hand sanitizer and disinfectants, rolls of tissues as well as boxes of hand gloves.

ECOMIG GHANCOY 3 representatives who made the donation were led by the Combat Team Commander, Lt Col Mohammed Awudi. He noted that the Coy planned to make the presentation at the end of the tour of duty in early March but had to put it on hold due the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent restrictions on movement among other things.

Lt Col Awudi however noted that, at this time the MRS needed even more support hence the donation to the facility to boost the health delivery to military personnel, families and the public.

The Matron of the 37 Military Hospital Col Josephine Osei Vowotor and the Nursing Officer in Charge (NOIC) of the Medical Center pool (Duala, Kpeshie, Arakan Medical Centres), Lt Col Patience Owusu Aidoo received the items on behalf of the Medical Centre and expressed profound gratitude to the team for their gesture.

The ECOMIG 3 team early on made a donation of One Thousand USD ($1000) in support of the Burma Camp Islamic School project. This was received by Lt Col A A Azumah on behalf of the project committee.
