The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and Zoomlion-Ghana on Saturday 18 April 2020 ended the week-long clean-up exercise held in the Accra as part of efforts to sanitize the city.
The activities were climaxed with a special clean-up exercise on the Accra-Tema Motorway with a joint team of personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Prisons Service, Zoomlion, Water and Sanitation Ministry and various assemblies along the motorway.
Addressing personnel at the Parade Square of headquarters Support Services Brigade, the Ag Commander Support Service Brigade, Col Kenneth Kwaku Kumi said the exercise was undertaken following the directives of the Commander-in-Chief (C-in-C) of GAF, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for citizens to take advantage of the lockdown and stay at home directives to clean the various dirt ridden parts of the capital.
He added that Ghanaians, especially members of the media, were so impressed with the performance of personnel during, before and after the clean-up exercise. He urged them to continue to be professional and work hand in hand with other security agencies and stakeholders in curbing crimes to enhance nation building.
He expressed his profound gratitude to the various security services who helped to make the event a success.
