Rear Admiral Yakubu Takes Over as Chief of Staff of GAF

The Former Chief Staff Officer (CSO) at the Ghana Navy Headquarters, Rear Admiral Issah Adams Yakubu has taken over as the Chief of Staff (COS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) from Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah on 19 February 2020 at the General Headquarters.

Receiving the Baton of Command from his predecessor, Rear Admiral Yakubu pledged to maintain the high standards set by his predecessor and called on all Director Generals at the headquarters to offer him the same support they offered his predecessor.

Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah on his part reminded the new COS of his responsibility to the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen Obed Boamah Akwa, the Commander-in-Chief (C-in-C) of GAF, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the entire Ghana Armed Forces. He also urged him to take very good care of his Director Generals, Directors, Forces Sergeant Major and personnel of the GAF.

The Commandant of Military Academy and Training School (MATS), Major General Charles KAA Awity, on behalf of all Director Generals at the General Headquarters expressed his appreciation to the out-gone Chief of Staff for his generosity during his tenure. He assured the new COS of their continuous support.

Senior Officers present at the occasion included all Director Generals at the Headquarters.
