The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General William Azure Ayamdo has commended personnel of the Ghana Army for their tremendous support and cooperation during his tenure in office.
He used the opportunity to formally inform them of his end of service with the Ghana Army and Ghana Armed Forces as a whole which takes effect on Wednesday, 19 February, 2020. He also felt fortified with the success that had been chalked during his tenure in office and expressed his appreciation to all for their dedication and support.
Maj Gen WA Ayamdo made these commendations at a durbar with all ranks at the Army Headquarters on Tuesday 11 February, 2020.
He advised personnel to continue to maintain the professionalism and loyalty to the service and avoid the misconception of disciplinary measures and charges that were in place to serve as a map of direction.
He further notified all to avoid the leak of security information on social media, the engagement in one man operations and rendering security services to persons illegally. He also entreated them to strive to acquire more knowledge in advance courses as well as to prepare adequately for operations to prevent misfortunes.
Maj Gen Ayamdo noted that as he ends his service, he will constantly engage with them and urged personnel to render the needed support to his successor.
