CDS Visits Ga Traditional Council

9 May 2019.   The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen Obed Boamah Akwa and his entourage have paid a visit to the Ga Traditional Council on Thursday 9 May 2019.

The visit was to commiserate with the Ga Traditional Council and the La Community for the demise of the Ga Mantse, Dr Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru III.

The CDS expressed his condolence on behalf of the Military High Command and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) at large adding that though the Council was in a state of mourning, it was also an opportunity for the two parties to strengthen the relationship between them.

He assured the Council on GAF’s readiness to assist in the funeral rites of the late Ga-Mantse when officially notified of the details.

CDS presented drinks, boxes of water and an undisclosed amount of money as tradition demanded to the Council on behalf of GAF. He later signed a Book of Condolence with the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Seth Amoama, Chief of Staff (COS), Major Gen Oppong-Peprah and other Senior Officers.

Laishie Akutso of La, Nii BK Yemo, on behalf of the Council welcomed the CDS and his entourage for making time to commiserate with them appreciating their kind gesture.

He added the Military would be informed on date and burial arrangements when finalised and also look forward to a strengthened bond between the Military and the Ga Community.
